Agenda: The problem of migrants’ integration into the social environment of the host countries

Our esteemed future delegates!

On behalf of the Chair of the Third Committee of the UN General Assembly, I am pleased to welcome each and every one of you.

Today, as the world plunges into the depths of chaos, many international norms are undergoing a severe crisis, and hatred is becoming the language of our time — it is more important than ever to preserve our humanity and remain true to the values laid down by the founding fathers of the United Nations.

The agenda of our committee will allow delegates to work for the benefit of all those who, for one reason or another, could not find their place in their homeland and were forced to emigrate. We are confident that the universal values of the UN, along with diligence and empathy, can work wonders. Join our committee — and let us create those wonders together!

Sincerely,
President of the Third Committee of the United Nations General Assembly,
Bogdan Grinenko

I am delighted to extend a warm welcome to each and every one of you, on behalf of the Chair of the Third Committee of the UN General Assembly.

The modern world is a web of contradictions that everyone concerned with its challenges strives to untangle. Regardless of how we perceive ourselves, in the face of a universal threat, we become defenders of order and protectors of the oppressed – those who require our assistance. The individuals at the heart of today’s discussion are fellow advocates of peace and goodwill. Their fate rests in our hands, for the distinction between a migrant and a fully-fledged member of society is but a single, subtle nuance: our tolerance towards them.

Delegates are called upon to choose a path of profound transformation – not only in the realm of international policy but also within our own hearts. It is by fostering intercultural dialogue and cooperation between states that we can address the challenges accompanying migration. On our journey toward embracing our identity as global citizens, we must strive to reach a consensus.

Sincerely,

Vice-President of the Third Committee of the United Nations General Assembly,

Andrey Koshel
