Agenda: The problem of migrants’ integration into the social environment of the host countries

Our esteemed future delegates!

On behalf of the Chair of the Third Committee of the UN General Assembly, I am pleased to welcome each and every one of you.

Today, as the world plunges into the depths of chaos, many international norms are undergoing a severe crisis, and hatred is becoming the language of our time — it is more important than ever to preserve our humanity and remain true to the values laid down by the founding fathers of the United Nations.

The agenda of our committee will allow delegates to work for the benefit of all those who, for one reason or another, could not find their place in their homeland and were forced to emigrate. We are confident that the universal values of the UN, along with diligence and empathy, can work wonders. Join our committee — and let us create those wonders together!

Sincerely,
President of the Third Committee of the United Nations General Assembly,
Bogdan Grinenko

Distinguished delegates,

On behalf of the Presidium of the Third Committee of the United Nations General Assembly, I am pleased to welcome you and express my appreciation for your participation in addressing an issue of vital importance to the modern world — the integration of migrants into the social environment of host countries. This is not merely a matter of domestic policy; it is a global challenge that touches the very foundations of international cooperation and sustainable development.

Your work in this committee demands thoughtfulness and responsibility. The success of migrant integration depends not only on legislative frameworks but also on societies’ willingness to foster openness and mutual understanding. The solutions you propose should bring together social, economic and cultural dimensions, creating conditions in which every individual can contribute meaningfully to their new community.

I urge you to approach discussions with respect for differing viewpoints, to listen carefully to one another and to strive for constructive dialogue. May your ideas reflect the spirit of solidarity and cooperation that forms the foundation of the United Nations’ mission.

Sincerely,

Vice-President of the Third Committee of the United Nations General Assembly,

Nadezhda Sokolova
